Code of Conduct

The Florida Combined Otolaryngology Meeting (FCOM) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and staff. To ensure this, we ask that all participants adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

Respect and Inclusion

Treat all participants with respect and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.
Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative in all interactions and communications.

Harassment-Free Environment

FCOM has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to, sexual harassment, intimidation, or discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, appearance, or religion.
Unacceptable behaviors include unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.

Discrimination and Harassment

Discrimination and harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, or any other protected category.
Harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention are prohibited.

Professional Conduct

Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.
Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
Respect the rules and policies of the conference venue, hotels, and any other associated venues.

Reporting Incidents

If you experience or witness any form of harassment or unacceptable behavior, please report it immediately to a member of the FCOM staff. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated whether by attendees, media, speakers, volunteers, organizers, venue staff, sponsors, or exhibitors. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the FCOM organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.
