Infection control is a standard of health care and COVID-19 served as a reminder of its relevance in routine patient care. While the pandemic impacted clinical practice in ways previously not experienced, it also exposed weaknesses in fundamental infection control protocols and policies. This presentation will review fundamental infection control principles within the context of the medical audiology environment as it related to lessons learned from COVD-19.

• General modes of disease transmission with an emphasis on droplet transmission
• Key considerations regarding PPE
• Appreciation of infection control policy requirements mandated by OSHA
