As indications for cochlear implantation expand, children with significant unilateral hearing loss (UHL) have become candidates. Children with UHL face unique difficulties with localization, hearing in noise, and speech recognition that trickle down into their performance in school and their ability to meet their full potential. This session will provide evidence-based guidance for cochlear implant candidacy, management, and expected outcomes in children with UHL. The speakers will focus on 24-month performance data obtained as part of a clinical trial investigating the safety and efficacy of cochlear implantation in this population.
