Dr. McMullen is a fellowship-trained head and neck surgical oncologist at Moffitt Cancer Center and serves as Medical Director of the Head and Neck Clinic. She specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, parathyroid disease, salivary gland tumors, oral cancer, and other types of head and neck cancers. She is recognized for her expertise in high-volume thyroid and parathyroid surgery, complex head and neck cancer surgery, and microvascular reconstruction to restore speech, swallowing, and appearance after cancer treatment. She has also earned the Adult Complex Thyroid/Parathyroid Focused Practice Designation, recognizing advanced expertise in the care of patients with complex thyroid and parathyroid conditions. She develops individualized treatment plans using the latest evidence-based surgical techniques and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive cancer care. She also contributes to national clinical guidelines and participates in clinical trials that advance treatment options for patients with head and neck and endocrine cancers. Dr. McMullen completed her residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Toronto. She has received numerous national honors, including the American Head and Neck Society’s Robert Maxwell Byers Award for Best Clinical Paper (2018), the Association of Women Surgeons 40 Under 40 Award, annual Top Doctor Tampa Bay recognition since 2022, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Honor Award (2026) for service.
