About Lee Mandel

Lee M. Mandel, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.R.S. graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida with acceptance into Phi Beta Kappa his junior year. He went on to graduate in the top 5 of his medical school class at the University of South Florida School of Medicine, earning acceptance into Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society a year early, as well as being named President of that prestigious organization. Dr. Mandel completed his residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City after which he was chosen for a coveted Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Ferdinand F. Becker, a pioneer in cosmetic and reconstructive facial surgery. Dr. Mandel has earned numerous awards and distinctions and is Board Certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Rhinologic Society, where he sits as a member of the Patient Advocacy Committee. Dr. Mandel has held posts as a member of the Young Physicians Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and Head and Neck Trauma Committee Delegate at Memorial Regional Hospital. Dr. Mandel is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the American Rhinologic Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Mandel served as Secreatry/Treasurer and President of the Florida Society of Otolaryngolgoy-Head and Neck Surgery. As a faculty member of the Open Forum, an annual international conference under the auspices of the Foundation for Innovation, Education and Research in Otolaryngology since its inception, Dr. Mandel has distinguished himself as a thought leader in his specialty, and currently sits on the planning committee alongside some of the country’s most respected rhinologic surgeons. Dr. Mandel is a nationally recognized leader in the field of minimally invasive, in-office procedures for sinus disorders, snoring and sleep apnea. He is the Director of the South Florida Sinus and Allergy Center and the South Florida Snoring and Sleep Center in Fort Lauderdale Florida, which has been named a National Center Of Excellence and receives visiting surgeons from around the country to learn his techniques.
