About Danny Mistry
Dr. Dilaawar (Danny) Mistry, MD, MS, ATC, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, a Certified Athletic Trainer, and has a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science. He provides comprehensive, evidence-based, primary care sports medicine for recreational and elite athletes with an emphasis on holistic, preventative health to enhance well-being and athletic performance. He has a passion for the integrative management of sports and non-sports related concussion and traumatic brain injury in patients of all ages.
He is a National Team Physician for USA Swimming, Chair of the Concussion Task Force for USA Swimming, and was a Board Member of the Colorado MINDSOURCE Brain Injury Network for the past 6 years. Prior to moving to Fort Collins, he was the Past Chair of the Concussion Task Force, Grand Junction, Colorado and was a Team Physician for the Grand Junction affiliate team of the Colorado Rockies. Prior to moving to Colorado 10 years ago, he was the Team Physician and Co-Medical Director, Department of Athletics, University of Virginia, during which he helped develop numerous Sports Medicine Programs for care of all Division 1 athletes, including a comprehensive Sports Cardiology Program in conjunction with Dr. Robert Battle, Head Team Cardiologist, Department of Athletics, University of Virginia. He has authored textbooks and articles in Sports Medicine and as part of his passion for teaching locally and nationwide, he teaches Sports Medicine to the residents at the Family Medicine Department, UC Health, Fort Collins.
